EUROPASS: Participating Railroads, Buses, Shipping Lines and Bonuses

COUNTRIES PARTICIPATING IN THE EUROPASS OFFER

Countries participating in the Europass offer entitle the Europass holder to unlimited travel on the national railroads and on some private railroads, bus lines and shipping lines. The Europass offer consists of:

The main countries: France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Switzerland
The associated countries (to be requested separately): Austria/Hungary (DANUBE), Belgium/Netherlands/Luxembourg (BENELUX), Greece/Ferries ADN/HML from and to Italy (GREECE PLUS), Portugal.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS - RESTRICTIONS

No supplements are required for quality trains such as EC, IC, ICE, Rapido or TGV (Nationals). Additional fees for seat reservations, couchettes, sleeping car accommodations, meals, extra services on board and baggage shipment must be paid separately.

Supplemental charges have to be paid to board the following trains:

EUROSTAR/ITALIA (Pendolino and ETR 500) in Italy and France.
TGV internationals in Italy and France.
AVE and EUROMED in Spain.
EUROSTAR in France, Belgium, and Great Britain.
THALYS in France, Belgium, Netherlands, and Germany.
CISALPINO in Italy, Switzaerland, and Germany.
FRANCISCO DE GOYA, JUAN MIRO, PAU CASALS, AND SALVADOR DALI in France and Spain.

Supplemental charges have also to be paid to board hoteltrains, such as InterCityNight (Germany), CityNightLine (Germany, Switzerland), Euronight etc. These fees include overnight accomodation, breakfast, and other services on board. Reservation is compulsory.

EUROPASS is valid on the following shipping lines:

Germany

Boat travels of the Koln-Dusseldorfer DeutscheRheinschiffahrt KD on the Rhine River between Koln and Mainz and on the Moselle river between Koblenz and Cochem. An additional fee has to be paid to use hydrofoils on the Rhine River.

Greece

Ferries operated by ADN/HML between Corfu/Igoumenitsa/Patras and Brindisi, if the passholder has purchased the Greece Zone (from June 10 to September 30 inclusive, high season surcharge of $15 requested).

Italy

Ferry-Boats operated by FS between Civitavecchia and Golfo Aranci (Olbia) and between Villa S. Giovanni and Messina.
Ferries operated by ADN/HML between Corfu/Igoumenitsa/Patras and Brindisi, if the passholder has purchased the Greece Zone (from June 10 to September 30 inclusive, high season surcharge of $15 requested).

Switzerland

Regular steamer service on the Lakes of Geneva, Luzern, Thun, Brienz, Zürich, Neuchâtel, Biel, Murten, on the Rhine between Schaffhausen and Kreuzlingen and on the Aare between Biel and Solothurn. These are seasonal services, so please consult timetables.

EUROPASS is valid on the following EUROPABUS in Germany:

Burgenstrasse, seat reservation is mandatory.
Romantische Strasse, seat reservation is mandatory.

In addition to free transportation on rail, boats and buses mentioned above, Europass entitles its holder to many bonuses at discounted fares on ferries, steamers and some private railroad companies:

Austria

50% reduction on boat day trips operated between Linz and Passau by Wurm and Köck.
50% reduction on steamer services on Lake Constance.
40% reduction on bicycle rental in railway stations.
20% reduction on steamer services on Wolfgang See.
15% reduction on boat day trips operated between Melk, Krems and Wien by DDSG-BLUE DANUBE.
15% reduction on Schafberg rack railway.
10% reduction on Schneeberg rack railway.
10% reduction on steamer services on Lake Constance.

Belgium

35% reduction on passenger fares for the ferry crossing Ostend-Ramsgate operated by the Holyman Sally Feries. Reduced fare tickets only available at the main Belgian train stations and the ports of Ostend and Ramsgate.
Reduced fare on EUROSTAR high speed trains from Bruxelles Midi to London Waterloo.

France

50% reduction on the chemins de fer de la Corse operating between Bastia and Ajaccio, Bastia and Calvi, Ajaccio and Calvi.
30% reduction on passengers fares for the ferriescrossing Bastia/Ajaccio/Propriano and Marseilles/Nice/Toulon operated by SNCM & Ferryterranee. Reduced fare tickets available on SNCM & Ferryterranee offices in Marseilles, Nice, Toulon, and Corse only.
50% reduction on normal foot passenger fares for the ferry crossing Calais-Dover operated by SeaFrance. Reduced fare tickets only available on the SeaFrance offices in Calais and Dover.
Reduced fare on EUROSTAR high speed trains from Paris Nord to London Waterloo.

Germany

50% reduction on passenger fares for the ferry crossing Lübeck (Travemünde) to Trelleborg (Sweden) on the TT-Line.
50% reduction on regular steamer services on Lake Constance.
50% reduction on steamer day trips operated between Passau and Linz by Wurm and Köck.
25% reduction on the mountain railroad Garmisch Partenkirchen Grainau-Zugspitze (Zugspitzplatt) and on some cable cars in the summit area.
Reduced fare on the Freiburg (Breisgau) · Schauinsland rack railroad.

Netherlands

30% reduction on the full fares of 'Stena Line ferries' between Hoeck van Holland and Harwich

Switzerland

50% reduction on steamer services on Lake Constance between Romanshorn and Friedrichshafen and between Rorschach and Lindau.
50% reduction on the Bürgenstock Funicular.
35% reduction on the steamer serviceson Lake Constance between Rorschach and Romanshorn.
35% reduction to the top of Mount Pilatus near Luzern, by funicular from Alpnachstad, as well as by cable car from Kriens.
35% reduction on entrance fee to the Transport Museum in Luzern, the biggest of its kind in Europe.
25% reduction on the Jungfrau region Railways.
25% reduction on the Rigi Railways.
